TEXTUAL REPRESENTATION OF AGING AND AGEIST ATTITUDES IN MODERN WOMEN'S DISCOURSE

Statement of the problem. The results interdisciplinary studies show that aging process was causelessly associated with words decline, vulnerability and has a gender marking. relationship between these two identities is complex, as linguistic research, it not been studied to sufficient extent yet, does have satisfactory theoretical foundation. purpose article analyze lexical units ageist semantics excerpted from literary works identify semantic groups are based on certain stereotypical attitudes process. Materials methods. research material prose American female writers K. Bushnell S. Mayer, containing examples age stereotypes. main methods analysis continuous sampling method, hypothetical-deductive descriptive method its components (observation, description, generalization), well contextual-pragmatic interpretation. Conclusions. In course work, revealed under influence formed attitudes, negative thoughts about senescence can become inward-looking source gerontophobia. study, language ageism divided into five groups, ncluding explicit expressions personages, implicit author’s bias.
